Jae Chul Lee, PhD

Dr. Jae Chul Lee is director of the Health and Wellness Unit in the Center for Disabilities Studies (CDS) at the University of Delaware. His research has focused on health disparities for and among people with disabilities. Following its development with partners of a statewide plan for achieving health equity for Delawareans with disabilities, done through a stakeholder-based strategic planning process, CDS has begun work to implement it. Dr. Lee facilitates a Data Monitoring and Surveillance workgroup under the health equity project. He also leads a project which aims to improve access to oral health care and services for Delawareans with disabilities by cultivating and improving cultural competency of disability among the oral health workforce in Delaware. After earning a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education at Michigan State University, Dr. Lee completed a post-doctoral training fellowship in health services research at Northwestern University. He completed another training in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Section within the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the National Institutes of Health.
