Barbara received her B.A. in English/Art History in 1988 from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She went on to receive her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. Her background includes being the Technical Assistance Director for the Maine AIDS Alliance and HIV/STD Program Coordinator for the City of Portland Public Health Department. Since 2000, she has been Executive Director the Maine Migrant Health Program, Inc. where she directs Maine's statewide primary care program for migrant and seasonal farmworkers.
